| ABOUT DR. BRUNS:
Dr. Richard Bruns was born in Bangor and raised in Brewer, Maine and graduated from Brewer High School in 1972. He then enrolled at the University of Maine at Orono where he obtained his B.A. in Psychology. After graduating from the University of Maine in 1976, he took post-graduate courses at the University of Maine in Chemistry and Biology. Dr. Bruns then transferred to Logan College of Chiropractic in Saint Louis, Missouri where he obtained a B.S. in Human Biology and became a Doctor of Chiropractic. After graduating in 1980, Dr. Bruns decided to set up practice in West Palm Beach, Florida. After six wonderful and rewarding years in practice, Dr. Bruns decided to move back to his home state of Maine to raise his four children. He set up practice on Union Street in Bangor. He has been there ever since.
Dr. Bruns has been in practice for 27 years and has advanced certification in Chiropractic Acupuncture, Cox Technique, Activator Technique, Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Extremity Adjusting. He tailors his techniques to the patients needs and has treated patients ranging in age from a few months old to 102 years old. He prides himself on using safe and effective care and takes continuing education at least two to three times per year.
Dr. Bruns is also active in his national and state associations. He is currently the delegate from Maine to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) and has been since 1996. He has served as past President of the Maine Chiropractic Association (MCA) and as Chair of Peer Review. He has also received the Flynn Lynch award from the ACA and was also voted "Chiropractor of the Year" from the MCA. Working with the local community, Dr. Bruns is an active supporter of the Chamber of Commerce, University of Maine, American Red Cross, and was past President and Lieutenant Governor of the Bangor Noontime Kiwanis Club. |
